The William Morris Woodpecker Hanging Tapestry is inspired by a design by the great pioneer of the British Arts and Crafts Movement, William Morris. The design depicting a woodpecker sitting in a tree garlanded by flowers and swirling leaves, draws inspiration from the Latin poet Ovid's Metamorphoses. Whether accenting a piece of your furniture or proudly displayed on the wall, this hanging tapestry will look stunning in any part of the home. William Morris (1834–1896) who was associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, was a founder of the British Arts & Crafts Movement. The acclaimed designer, artist, and writer was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production.
The tapestry woven design is 55” x 27” and has a sleeve for hanging rod (rod and brackets not included). Care instructions: Dry clean only.
