Description
This Yoshiko Yamamoto linoleum block print was made from multiple hand carved blocks with four of the blocks used as reduction blocks, to achieve the depth of color. Each print is signed and is one of a numbered limited edition of 220. “Daffodils, tulips, plums, and cherries. They all grace our spring gardens. Springtime in Skagit Valley near Seattle is especially breathtaking with its fields of tulips, like a rich tapestry woven with bright pink, red, purple, and yellow threads.” Framed size: 16" x 22”. The frames are quartersawn oak with mortise & tenon construction by Dard Hunter Studios.
Founded in 1996 by Yoshiko Yamamoto with her husband Bruce Smith, the Arts & Crafts Press uses antique printing presses to handcraft traditional woodblock prints and letterpress printed greeting cards at their studio in Tacoma, Washington. While preserving and advancing the traditional aspects of letterpress and woodblock printing, the Arts and Crafts Press also strives to print for our future generations with a commitment to seeking alternative, "greener" printing materials and tools.
