Frank Lloyd Wright Origami Chair - Leather Upholstery

$5,000.00

The first rendition of the Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin Origami Chair was produced by Cassina between 1986 and 1990. Thirty years later Cassina has unveiled a new version. Completely manufactured in Cassina’s carpentry workshop, the armchair combines hand craftsmanship with the most advanced wood processing technologies. Wright conceived this chair in 1949 for his last home in Arizona, Taliesin West. Crafted from a single sheet of beech plywood defined by a complex fold, the chair creates balance defying geometry and evokes the famous Japanese art after which it is named, creating an iconic piece that shows Wright's orientation towards more daring and sophisticated solutions.

Finished in a choice of natural Cherry, natural Oak, and Oak stained Black veneer, with wool fabric or leather upholstery in a choice of colors. 34.6" wide x 29.5" high x 34.6" diameter. See image of color swatches for the range of available leather choices. Please call 414.276.4750 to discuss options. Regarding upholstery colors, it is important to note that different computer screens, operating systems, and even web browsers have different color characteristics. This is a special order item and requires a custom freight quote. Please allow up to 16 weeks for delivery.
