The Barrel Chair is Frank Lloyd Wright’s most iconic furniture design. Originally conceived in 1903 for the Darwin Martin house in Buffalo NY, Wright redesigned the chair in a larger version with other design modifications for the Wingspread residence of Herbert Johnson in 1937. Wright liked the new design so much that he used the chairs in Fallingwater and Taliesin. This signature chair is comfortable, compact and perfect as a stand-alone or dining room piece. These licensed reproductions from Cassina in Italy pay strict attention to Wright’s original details. Each piece of furniture is branded with Wright’s mark, certifying its authenticity, as well as the production number, which serves to record the item’s production chronology, and corresponds to the tally on the accompanying identity card. Crafted in a choice of Cherry Wood, or Cherry wood stained Walnut, it features the finest traditional construction with wool fabric or leather cushion upholstery in a choice of colors.
